An inhabited wall

Grand-Lahou, Côte-d’Ivoire — 2018

Our project is the formal response to the many local imperatives encompassing climatic, cultural, social, economic aspects, as well as a careful use of available materials.

We are convinced that the efforts made in the design of the building will allow the library to be a new landmark in Grand-Lahou and that the innovative uses of materials will inspire the local population to do more architectural research, and thus to improve the quality of life.

The project was made possible thanks to the involvement of the community, which wanted to provide a better space for study and discussion for its youth.
